Rewiring Digital Trust: Twala CEO Jeffrey Reyes Speaks at ASTICON 2025

August 5, 2025 – Quezon City, Philippines — At ASTICON 2025, one of the country’s premier conferences on emerging technologies, Twala CEO Engr. Jeffrey Reyes urged leaders to rethink how trust is built in the digital age.

Hosted by the Department of Science and Technology – Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST–ASTI), the event was held at Novotel Manila in Quezon City. DOST–ASTI, a government research and development agency, advances the Philippines’ capabilities in information and communications technology (ICT) and microelectronics through research, digital infrastructure projects, and capacity-building programs.

With the theme “Science-Powered Innovation,” ASTICON 2025 gathered researchers, innovators, and digital leaders from both public and private sectors. Reyes delivered a keynote titled “Rewiring Trust in the Age of AI,” emphasizing that in an era where artificial intelligence can convincingly create text, images, and voices, trust must be verified, not assumed.

We live in a time where seeing is no longer believing. But verifying is,” Reyes said. “Innovation must be responsible. We cannot embrace AI’s potential without prioritizing security, privacy, and integrity.

By marrying innovation with accountability, Reyes called on government and industry leaders to build a digital ecosystem where trust is guaranteed.
